" Shotokan JKA Karate is not a great sport only, but a martial art of Self-Defence. Shotokan JKA Karate is a method of self-defence without the use of weapons. It makes effective use of every muscle of the body on the fundamental techniques of punching,kicking,striking & blocking. Through training over a course of time, one learns how to make use of one's hands and legs as weapons for self-defence. The training also requires making the body supple & flexibile, as well as developing strong, explosive muscles.
